The PGHM Chamonix had a very hard week. And yesterday was a very good demonstration of that: 12 rescue operations in one single day. All started on Tuesday with 2 serious accidents, one person died in the Aravis and the second was a PGHM member that was seriously injured. This 'Gendarme' had a 20m fall in the Aiguille de la Republique and is still in coma in the Grenoble Hospital. The belgian trekker that disappeared last wednesday, still no news from him. The PGHM tried to find him again over the weekend but no luck. On Saturday 3 rescues. A polish trekker with broken leg on the Plan de l'Aiguille and an alpinist with a pulmonary edema on the Ref Vallot (4300m). And late in the evening another climber in the Leschaux Hut with a facial trauma. Sunday, the day was very busy. A woman was injured on her leg on the Millieu Glacier (Aig Argentiere). A party was blocked on the Couloir Couturier in the Aiguille Verte, and a paragliding accident on the Plan Praz take off site. More serious, an alpinist was hit by a rock fall on the Tour Noir ridge.
