A rescuer from the PGHM climbs the Grandes Jorasses to rescue two climbers

The PGHM rescuer was dropped under difficult conditions 200m below the summit of the Grandes Jorasses (4208m). All happened on Wednesday, around 20 hours, when a "gendarme" from the PGHM Chamonix got stuck with a climbing party of two Swiss in the north face of the Grandes Jorasses, the helicopter can no longer intervene because of wind and the bad weather. Like a mountain guide, he climbed the rest of the route till the summit and then accompanied them till a safe place in the Italian side, at 3100m, where they were rescued by the Italian rescue team. Later, the 2 climbers were dispatched to the Valley, exhausted but unharmed. Le Dauphiné
