Annecy 2018 and alpine skiing in Chamonix

With the new project/dossier for Annecy 2018, the ski resort of Les Houches will organize the Alpine skiing women's events: Giant, Super G and downhill, in addition to the men events. With 6 skiing competitions, the town of Les Houches is a pillar of the French candidature to the Annecy 2018 Winter Olympic Games. Last week the council of Les Houches has said yes to this project. If France organizes the Olympic Games, this would allow to redefine the ski area: development of a new slope, creating a new lift, the redesign of the finish line with a car parking, a more direct access to the train and a new AutoRoute Blanche access.
