Chamonix: Olympic village will be an example

Eric Fournier, Mayor of Chamonix, reaffirms the project as an "exemplary Olympic Village". Yesterday afternoon, the mayor of Chamonix was clear before the IOC evaluation commission in what concerns the Olympic Village project "Grepon - John Franco". Eric Fournier said that after the Olympics, this site will offer 150 permanent houses for social purposes. The accommodation would be built with the most innovative and sustainable technologies, ensuring low energy consumption. Finally Eric Fournier emphasized the desire of a reclassification of an entire neighborhood and the qualitative improvement of the southern entrance to the city of Chamonix.
