This is the new festival of the valley of Chamonix. During the Ascension Holiday, "Mont Blanc Versant Durable" will replace the Science Festival and is a continuation of the "Tourism Summits" already held here. The goal, according to the mayor of Chamonix "is to bring together tourism & sustainable development". For this first year, the theme of the festival is "Welcome to Sustainable Mobility", in other words: transport & transportation. During the three days, twenty films will be shown in the Cinema Vox in Chamonix and the "Espace Olca" in Les Houches - films about transportation, but also about travel and exploration.
