On Tuesday at 18:00hrs, a warning was received by the Chamonix PGHM from Italy. The victims' wife / mother called the rescue services to warn them that her husband and son had just fallen over 20 metres into a crevasse in the Valley Blanche. The man apparently didn't have the French rescue number, so called his wife to raise the alarm. At 18:40hrs, the PGHM were onsite to extract the two Italian victims, one of whom had injuries to the leg.
