For its new science program, France 2 yesterday planned an ascent of Mont Blanc, by the doctor Michel Cymes and Adriana Karembeu.
"The theme is high altitude medicine and physiological problems encountered by climbers", says the mountain guide Jean-Louis Verdier.
Maybe so, but why give permission to these two "climbers" to be dropped and picked up by a helicopter at the Col de la Brenva, at 4300 metres?

Jean-Louis Verdier, who gave the authorisation, says: "At first, it was just a question of dropping off some gear at the Col de la Brenva, but Michel Cymes suffers from a bad back. That's why I gave him permission to be transported by helicopter. We will not know until we see the episode on television if I was right or wrong. They both agree that real preparation is necessary before climbing Mont Blanc."
