Chamonix Lift Systems open in September 2024

With the end of the summer tourist season, some of the ski lifts in the Chamonix valley stopped operating at the end of Sunday 8 September. However, some remain open until 3rd November 2024.

With the end of the summer tourist season, some of the ski lifts in the Chamonix valley stopped operating at the end of Sunday 8 September. However, some remain open until 3rd November 2024.

Le Tour / Balme

The entire lift system in the domain of Balme is closed.  It will re-open in December 2024, at the start of the winter ski season.

Les Houches

In Les Houches, the Bellevue cable car is operational until the end  Sunday 15 September 2024. 
The Prarion gondola closed at the end of Sunday 8 September. 

Brévent & La Flégère

The Brévent area and its cable car with exceptional views is open. 
It is scheduled to close with the last lift from Plan-Praz to Chamonix leaving at 16:30 Hrs on Sunday 15 Sept.

The Domaine de la Flégère is open until 16:30 hrs on Sunday 22nd September 2024.

The Flégère Gondola re-opens again from the 19th October till the 11th November 2024.

The Bossons Chairlift

The chairlift at Les Bossons is open until 18:00 on Sunday 15 September

The Tramway du Mont Blanc

The Tramway de Mont-Blanc is open until the end of Sunday 29 September 2024. The top station at the Nid d'Aigle is closed for renovation until the summer of 2026. Until then, the top station is Mont Lachat.

Aiguille du Midi

The Aiguille du Midi cable car system is open until the end of Sunday 3 November 2024. This includes the Panoramic to Italy.

The Train to Montenvers

The train du Montenvers is open until the end of Sunday 3 November. 
The last departure from Chamonix is at 14:30 and the last descent from Montenvers is at 17:00 Hrs

Les Grands Montets

The Grands Montets was closed during the summer of 2024 for renovation works.
