According to a press release issued by Mont-Blanc Natural Resort, the Chamonix Mont-Blanc valley officially opens its doors for the summer season, Saturday 17th June 2017.

The Aiguille du Midi

Access the fascinating world of high mountains, at 3,842m above sea level.

Enjoy the exceptional panorama of the Aiguille du Midi and visit on the site: the Terraces, the Museums and the Tube.

Walk around the central summit of the Aiguille du Midi through the Tube, a 32 m long gallery and enjoy the great view over the landscape.

The Montenvers Mer de Glace site

Experience history and glaciology aboard the famous Red Train of the Montenvers Mer de Glace.

Enter the cave of the Mer de Glace Glacie.

The Ice Cave is accessible either by walk on a footpath, around 20 minutes, either by gondola, around 448 steps, from the arrival of the gondola lift to the entrance of the Cave.

Also visit the Crystal Gallery, the Glaciorium, the Temple of Nature. Enjoy landscape readings of the glaciologists, every day, on the site, from 10am to 4pm.

For hikers seeking comfort in the nature

The Mont-Blanc Tramway

Take the cog railway with a unique view of the Aiguilles of Chamonix and the Dômes de Miage to reach the Plateau de Bellevue.

Continue by train to Nid d'Aigle to admire the Bionnassay glacier.

Discover the "sunset" trains, be amazed in front of the twilight. A paid service, upon reservation at the Tramway du Mont Blanc cash desks.

Brévent – Flégère area

Experience the mountain from the Brévent - Flégère areas with its mountain lakes and hikes.

On the Flégère area: La Via Ferrata des Evettes is an invitation to practice the Via Ferrata facing the Mont Blanc massif.

Discover or rediscover the alpine garden: this botanical garden set up and maintained by the Association Plantes Magiques, offers hikers the opportunity to discover species in their natural environment and to know their cosmetic and/or medicinal virtues.

The Grands Montets area

Experience the glaciers at the Grands Montets area, two altitudes for two atmospheres: the alpine pastures of Lognan at 1970m and the serracs of the Argentière glacier at 3275m.

A place to touch the snow in summer? The snow garden with its cordata path to walk safely at 3275m. Opening on Saturday 24th June 2017.

The Domaine du Balme

Sportsmen, hikers and mountain bikers discover Balme area.

This bucolic domain benefits from vast alpine pastures and many hikes.

It is also the ideal area for the practice of mountain biking:

100% of the mountain bike tracks will be open this Saturday 17th June:

  • The Blue trail des Chevreuils;
  • The variant Red des Chevreuils;
  • The Green Marmottes Trail;
  • The Red trail Cerfs.

Enjoy relaxation and a breathtaking panorama of the Mont Blanc massif. Take the many hiking trails.

For the sportiest, come and test our mountain bike trails from the top of the Prarion gondola.
