The Golden Ice Axes 2013 is held from 3 to 6 April in Chamonix and Courmayeur.
Kurt Diemberger receives the Career Piolet d'Or award: Kurt is an Austrian mountaineer born in 1932. He acheived a first ascent of Broad Peak (8051m). Also, he climbed Everest, K2, Makalu, Dhaulagiri and Gasherbrum 2. In the Alps he climbed the Grandes Jorasses, the Matterhorn and the Eiger.
