September 19-20 2013, saw the third edition of "theALPS Awards" held in Chamonix. More than 300 leading decision-makers in European Alpine tourism came together in the Majestic Congress Center of Chamonix Mont-Blanc.
"Summer Attractions in the Mountains" was the 2013 theme of "theALPS Award". "TheALPS Award" is made on behalf of AlpNet, the Association for the Promotion of Tourism in the Alps, under the auspices of MCI Tourismus Innsbruck. The award is presented to the best and most successful Alpine product innovations in the field of summer tourist attractions.

30 applicants from the AlpNet partner regions of Grisons, Rhône-Alpes, South Tyrol, Tyrol, Trentino and Valais submitted their projects. The winner of "theALPS Award" 2013 is Hexenwasser Söll, from Tirol.

Teresa Kaufman was among the five short-listed finalists of "theALPS Award" 2013 with her guided photo tours: Teresa's Photo Walks. Teresa's itineraries give an insight of the life in the Chamonix Valley. She opens doors to meet chefs, craftsmen, gardeners, artists and guides. Different itineraries are scheduled each week. Teresa Kaufman was born in Texas (US) but she has been living in Chamonix since 1976. She is a self-taught photographer with an impressive collection of unique shots, taken over many years, depicting the lives of farmers and other inhabitants of this mountainous area. Teresa is the author of a collection of articles composed for the british 'Your Cat' Magazine, entitled, 'Travels with my Cats'. Also she published a book, entitled, 'Thérèsa and Her Two Brothers'; a photographic description of daily life in the French Alps, as experienced by Thérèsa and her brothers.
