Transdev drops the CarSharing project "Les Ponettes"

Last summer, three electric vehicles in self-sharing Marguerite, Louise and Emilie have been implemented between Les Houches and Chamonix. Considering having "fulfilled its mission", Transdev Mont Blanc Bus does not wish to "engage in an extension of this test".

A lack of interest

According to Le Dauphine, this project has been set up following a Call for Projects by the "MO2 mountain mobility", launched in 2015 and closed the following year at the Majestic. In this context, Transdev undertook to support an environmentally friendly transport project. The start-up OneBlip had won the jury's favorite.

A "difference between what the respondents said initally and their real intentions"

According a detailed report of the Steering Committee, as part of a survey on social networks, some 300 responses had been recorded, reporting "very positive results" and "some interest from the majority of the respondents". Except that, in fact, the same report mentions a "great difference between the speech held by the people questioned and their real intentions". Of course, "this was felt in the balance of rentals."

Balance sheet

only 9 rentals were recorded over the entire duration of the test. Including 4 the first week by users who wanted to "try the cars".

18 people have registered on the app. Among these 9 rentals, the steering committee estimates that only 4 answered "a real need for travel", they reserved for departing from Les Houches.

A lack of communication

Among the "obstacles to use", the Steering Committee also noted "difficulties for customers to connect to the app" and a "poor understanding of the process to follow". Notably because it was necessary to register on the Paypal site for online payment. But above all, there is a lack of communication.
