Numerous rescue missions by the PGHM in Chamonix this Sunday

Last Sunday, February 24, 2019, the Chamonix High Mountain Rescue Team (PGHM) have conducted nine rescue missions in Haute-Savoie, including four outside the Mont-Blanc massif.

Sunday might be the perfect day to relax for most people, but there is no resting for the PGHM. 

These Chamonix local heroes had a very busy Sunday - they have led a total of nine successful rescue mission in Chamonix, and not only.

The day started with the help of a skier victim of head trauma in La Chapelle-d'Abondance, evacuated to Annecy hospital.

On the Chamonix side, the PGHM rescued a person who injured their hip after a fall on the Argentière ski area.

Then, the local heroes have evacuated someone who was having thoracic pains at the Refuge du Requin, followed by rescuing a skier who hurt their leg while coming down the Vallée Blanche.

Later, the PGHM rescued two people who suffered multiple injuries while skiing under the Tour glacier and took them directly to Sallanches hospital.

After that, the PGHM rescued one person who suffered from shoulder trauma on the Hauteluce estate and another who fell on the Megève estate and injured their femur.

Lastly, a person who suffered multiple injuries was rescued by the PGHM from near the Flaine ski area. They were evacuated to Annecy.
