After coaching Chamonix ice hockey team for two seasons, Heikki Leime will lead Anglet next season.
Consequently, the Pioneers of Chamonix are in need of a new coach.
Although the Pioneers are not yet decided, it is almost certain they would choose once again a foreign coach.
"We are currently in discussion with three people: two North Americans and one European. The three candidates all have great experience in their national championship ", says the president of Chamonix ice hockey team, Bernard Molliet.
Heikki Leime took the Pioneers of Chamonix in the quarter-finals play-offs of Ligue Magnus for the first time since 2015, where they played against Rouen.
Rouen won but later lost to Grenoble who became champions.
At that time, Chamonix ice hockey team president congratulated Grenoble for winning the title, declaring that "it's great to see a club from the Alps win the championship." [Bernard Molliet, for Le Dauphine]
We will let you know as soon as the Pioneers decide who should continue the great work of coach Heikki Leime.
