Unfortunately, the woman, who was in her forties, lost her life.

Yesterday, the 8th of August 2019, shortly before 1 pm, one Italian woman in her forties and one Italian man (60) were crossing the Aiguille des Marbrées when they fell 100 meters (328 ft).

The Aiguille des Marbrées is a peak in the Mont-Blanc massif, situated between the Col de Rochefort and the Col du Géant, its highest altitude reaching 3,535 metres (11,598 ft).

According to Le Dauphine, the incident happened at about 3300 meters altitude (10826 ft) and the unscrewing was not related to landslides.

Unfortunately, the woman died on the spot.

Her colleague, the 60-years old man, was evacuated to the Geneva Hospital centre. His vital signs are good.

This intervention was carried out by an air detachment of the gendarmerie because the helicopter of the civil security of Chamonix was taken on another intervention.
