This Saturday, on the 14th of September 2019, a paragliding pilot fell 10 meters into a crevasse.
Most likely, the man missed his take-off, just below the Aiguille du Midi and fell into a wide crevasse, which is widening as the season progresses.
According to LeDauphine, the man initially lost his consciousness but, fortunately, he was only slightly injured.
As a reminder, landing on top of Mont-Blanc is prohibited for paragliders since June 2019, when the good weather brought in a record number of paragliders, but unfortunately, one speed-rider has lost his life.
