Chamonix: Celebrate the Mont-Blanc massif for three days

From 11 to 13 December 2019, the magnificent mountains will be celebrated through many different activities varying from sports to arts.

Come and join "Chamonix - Climb, Film, Read" to celebrate the Mont-Blanc massif for three days.

Wednesday, December 11th, International Mountain Day

The Alpine Museum of Chamonix invites everyone to the "Lire les Montagnes" (Read the mountains) festival.

The festival was designed for everyone, regardless of their preferences. From the Roger Frison-Roche enthusiasts to the daring ones who would try the speed dating.

Moreover, in 2019 the International Mountain Day coincides with Wednesday, the children's free day.

Therefore, the youngest will be invited from 3.30 pm for an animated reading "Tell me about mountaineering".

The adults will have their museum visit accompanied by readings with two voices at 5:30 pm, but the best comes after 7 pm.

The Alpine Museum will host many activities, part of the festival that aims at celebrating the mountains.

Thursday, December 12th, Cinema and Round table

The second day of the festival will bring readings for children, held by the "Lire et faire lire" association, at the Maison de Village.

Four classes will be hosted at the Alpine Museum.

At 8:30 pm, the Vox cinema in Chamonix will join the party with a projection of "Stars of noon" (1958) but also a surprise movie.

The Vox Cinema will project "Stars of Noon" and a surprise movie.
