The big trail week in Chamonix, from August 24 to 30, with seven events on the program, will not take place this year because of the coronavirus epidemic.
The queen race, the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc, which crowned the Spanish Pau Capell last year, was therefore officially cancelled this Wednesday by the organizers.
On April 21, the UTMB announced that they would choose among three options & announce their final decision on 20 May 2020: keeping on the scheduled dates, keeping on later dates or outright cancellation. The third option was therefore chosen.
Therefore, the 2020 edition of the UTMB® Mont-Blanc will not take place from August 24 to 31, 2020.
The 19th edition of the UTMB will be postponed to August 2021.

Reimbursement
In compliance with the regulations of the event, you will be refunded 55% of the entry fee. "Besides the sadness of not being able to meet you this summer, the cancellation of the event is a real financial risk for the organization which has already incurred great expenses across all areas", declared the UTMB.
However, the UTMB offers the opportunity to benefit from having a place reserved in the same race in 2021, 2022 or 2023.
