Deconfinement: Opening Dates for Mountain Huts in the Mont-Blanc Massif

After the reopening of ski lifts in the Chamonix valley, it is now time for the next step of the deconfinement: the reopening of mountain huts.

The reopening of mountain huts was authorized on 2 June 2020, as confirmed by Secretary of State, Emmanuelle Wargon.

The guardians, as well as the owners, have been busy preparing for the season. Each hut is obliged to comply with the protocol agreed with the respective town hall or prefecture for their specific building.

For this reason, the reopening will progress gradually, with reduced capacities, at least initially.

Please note: reservations in mountain huts in France are mandatory. A "Hiker's Charter" must be validated and signed. Each guardian is responsible to ensure that all tourists sign the "Hiker's Charter".

All measures to guarantee the safety of hosts and employees, such as regular disinfection, are applied.

In addition, each user must have protective equipment (mask, gel, etc.) and their own equipment.

Upon arrival at the refuge, the guards are responsible for explaining the particular organization due to the coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic: the direction of traffic, times for getting up and eating, arrangements for dormitories, etc.
