The Panoramic Mont-Blanc gondola reopened 13 July 2020

While the other Chamonix valley lifts reopened weeks ago, it is now time for the famous Panoramic Mont-Blanc gondola to resume service.

The Panoramic Mont-Blanc gondola connects the Aiguille du Midi (3,842 m or 12,605 ft) and the Punta Helbornner (3,466 m or 11,371 ft).

Opened only during summertime, the Panoramic Mont-Blanc gondola is a 5 km (3.10 mi) journey which takes about 30 minutes.

The Panoramic Mont-Blanc gondola resumed service on 13 July 2020.

The CMB warns that the opening is subject to weather conditions. Wearing a mask is compulsory in confined spaces as well as during the transport phases.

At the foot of the Aiguille du Midi cable car in Chamonix, an immersive cinema activity is offered with the broadcast of a four-dimensional film lasting 12 minutes, at the rate of four sessions per hour.

As a reminder, the violent and cold winds of the storm Eleanor at the beginning of 2018 caused considerable damage to the Panoramic Mont-Blanc. As a result, the gondola was closed for the summer of 2018 and huge construction works were done.
