Three serious accidents took place in the Mont-Blanc massif on 12 September 2020.
Firstly, a 25-year old climber fell 10 meters (32.8 ft) while he was leading the rope in a climbing route on the Aiguille des Chamois (2,902 m or 9,521 ft altitude), in the Aiguilles Rouges massif, in the town of Vallorcine.
The PGHM of Chamonix intervened shortly before 7 am and evacuated the injured climber to the Sallanches Hospital.
He suffered from head trauma, and the gendarmes also suspected a thoracic trauma.
Secondly, a 58-year old climber was practising the Envers des Aiguilles massif, in Chamonix, when he fell.
Suffering from serious injuries, the climber was transported to the Sallanches hospital by the gendarmes of the PGHM of Chamonix.
Lastly, at 1.45 pm, another 25-year-old climber fell in the Mer de Glace area.
He unscrewed 10 meters (32.8 ft) and suffered trauma to the head and arms. The victim was also transported to the Sallanches hospital centre.
