Lots of accidents in the Mountains, PGHM was busy!!!

CHAMONIX The night from Sunday to Monday had already been busy for the Platoon Mountain Gendarmerie (PGHM) from Chamonix. By late afternoon, the day before yesterday, two climbers were in the Rebuffat route, in the southern face of the Aiguille du Midi. Caught up in the night, the second climber was injured and the first began to suffer from frostbite. The aiguille du midi cable car was re-started and a caravan of four PGHM rescuers and a doctor went up there to evacuate the two men. End of the rescue at 2am. The two climbers are fine. 500m on the Courtes & 200m at la Verte Yesterday around 11:50am, again in this sector, but at the foot of the Aig. du Midi face, a paraglider had crashed shortly after take off. The victim lost consciousness. She was evacuated to hospital in Sallanches. By mid-afternoon, a climber was miraculously healed after falling 500m while descending into the opposite North/North East of the Courtes. He suffered a neck injury. New fall one hour later, at 16:50h. A climber fell 200 meters down the Y Couloir on the Aiguille Verte. He was severely injured (head injury), and he was rescued by helicopter to Sallanches.
