The highest museum housed in a granite cave, a via ferrata route leading to the summit terrace or a glass terrace giving the impression of walking into the void... These are the most important elements of the new plan of renovation of the summit of the Aiguille du Midi, which should be implemented over the next two years. One of the actual issue of the Aiguille du Midi is that with bad weather the visitor may stay disappointed and frustrated. The Compagnie du Mont Blanc (CMB) have decided to revitalize this world famous attraction. The projet, designed by the agency Implied, will cost 5 million euros. A construction permit was filed in city hall of Chamonix. Mathieu Dechavanne, General Director of CMB, explains the spirit of the project: "We want the visitor to live a true experience by offering a better knowledge of the site and its environment through new technologies". Inevitably, we must expect a rise in the price of the Aiguille du Midi forfait, which attracts half a million visitors a year. Within two years, he should approach the 50€. Le Dauphiné
