23 September 2015. At the beginning of this winter, a new detachable 4-seater chairlift is to come out on the ski domain of Les Houches.
The new Melezes chairlift from Les Houches will replace the "La Cha" and the "Chamois" chairlifts, which are approaching the end of life. These new ski lifts will be transporting 2.000 passengers per hour, offering not only more speed and comfort, but also doubling the skiing pleasure just as before. Also, it is important to mention that this project includes a bottom station situated at 1639m, and a top station at 1875m high.
These new Mezeles chairlifts are expected to improve the quality of services delivered to users, providing more safety for beginners and for people with disabilities, who practise sports.
The work is coming along very nicely. The old ski lifts have already been taken out, new chairs and other parts of new lift have been dropped in by helicopters. At this moment, constructors are working on concreting the top station. Thus, by the start of the 2015/2016 winter season, the new Melezes Chairlift will be ready for all winter sports enthusiasts.
Moreover, the Compagne du Mont Blanc prepares for the new winter season. First on their list is a mini-funicular, that currently, is being built at Brevent. The new lift will allow beginner skiers and snowboarders easy access to the Planpraz plateau and will transport between 250 to 290 people per hour.
And that's not all! Good news for snow lovers! Chamonix Valley is ready to open one of the biggest Snowpark in Europe. The new Snowpark of 1000m long and 100m wide is to be build in Le Tour.
