Ski lifts: health pass and mask compulsory

From 4 December 2021, the health pass and the mask will be compulsory in the lift queues and in the ski lifts.

Olivier Véran, the Minister of Solidarity and Health, had warned: if the epidemic situation worsened, wearing a mask in the queues and ski lifts at the resorts would become compulsory.

Friday 26 November, Alain Espinasse the prefect of Haute-Savoie announced during the update on the health situation in Haute-Savoie. “The incidence rate is 246.3 per 100,000 inhabitants; slightly below the regional average (247.9) and above the national average (212.9). The 30.39 year olds, and 20-29 year olds, remain the most affected age groups.

The measure will take effect as soon as the stations open on Saturday 4 December 2021.

What about the Christmas markets, the Saint-André fair and other Telethons, which by definition bring together a lot of people?

"There is law and common sense," replied the prefect.

Alain Espinasse said "The markets are already subject to the obligations imposed on events organized in establishments open to the public (ERP), namely the obligation to present a health pass";
