Closed since 11 March 2022, after the carbon monoxide poisoning of 30 people, the Argentière Hut (2771 m) has not yet open its doors.
The spring season of the ski raids has already started and hut-keepers are worried to not be able to open this alpine hut for the 2022 summer.
However, these last weeks, few expertise were made inside the refuge. The escape from the generator to the origin of intoxication even made the object of remission work in the state, persuading Béatrice and Frédéric Laurenzio for that their hut can be open without the shadow of a danger.
Along this interminable wait, the hut-keepers do not hide their distress. "We live with the moral stress of not being able to find out if this was the lender of the procedure we were already financially sanctioned", they confess. For more info on the Argentière Hut, just click here
The Tête Rousse and Goûter refuges will open on 28 and 29 May
According to Le Dauphine, the two main refuges of the Mont-Blanc normal route, Tête Rousse (3165 m) and the Goûter (3815 m) will open to mountaineers the weekend of 28 and 29 May 2022.
But an unfortunate discovery was made for the FFCAM. The gate of the Goûter refuge seemed to have been forced into winter by the aid of a violet or a foot of beech. A mountaineer in distress? Nothing is less sure, only 100 meters from where the winter refuge is located. No deterioration or flight was ever observed in the interior.
The immersion of one or more persons is undoubtedly more relevant than the curiosity, a phenomenon observed by many hut-keepers at the beginning of the season.
