On Monday, the 2nd February 2015, the Michelin Guide for France has been released the new star rankings for the best restaurants. We are very proud to announce the presence of 7 Chamonix restaurants in the 2015 Michelin Guide.
As every consecutive year, the Michelin guide awarded the finest dining establishments by taking into account 3 criteria of classification: 1* for the "Very good restaurant in its category", 2* for "Excellent cooking, worth a detour" and 3* for "Exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey".
Bellow, the 2015 Michelin stars restaurants from Chamonix:
- 2* Michelin:
Albert 1er is in the top of the list. The 2 stars restaurant has been run by the family Carrier and Maillet for many generations. A passion to stay true to the modern evolution of this Haute-Savoie tradition is evident throughout, from the welcome to the decor to the menus themselves.
- 1* Michelin:
- The Restaurant Bistrot from Chamonix is located at the ground floor of the 4 star Hotel Morgane, is in the hands of the award-winning chef Mickey Bourdillat and sommelier Vallery Allard. Bistrot is the perfect place to come and try a nice fine dinning food.
- Auberge du Bois Prin - this is the first star for Bois Prin. The restaurant boasts an incredible chef/gardener who grows both flowers and vegetables to use in his original and delicious recipes. Savoyarde dishes are a particular speciality here with a huge selection of regional cheeses to be enjoyed alongside a vast range of local wines.
Since 1955, the Michelin Guide has also highlighted restaurants offering "exceptional good food at moderate prices", a feature now called "Bib Gourmand". We count 4 restaurants from Chamonix on this list, offering menu items priced below a maximum determined by local economic standards. The restaurants are:
