Whether you feel like coughing up your lungs while putting on a bib or screaming your lungs out while cheering on those who are sweating in your place, the Chamois relay is the race not to be missed, this Tuesday, January 7.
This ski mountaineering event organized by Chamonix ski alpinisme will liven up the Planards area from 6 p.m. The competitors will then be welcomed on the snow front for the verification of licenses and the distribution of bibs.
The two races on the program will then start at 7:30 p.m. The first will consist of a relay in teams of two (mixed or not). Each pair will have to complete a total of four loops of 180 m of positive and negative elevation gain.
The first is covered by the first relay runner, the next two by both at the same time, and the fourth only by the second effort partner.
More individual ski mountaineers will also be able to try a “discovery” course of a single loop with a 180 m vertical drop. Note that if they fail to triumph on skis, the disguised competitors will still be able to try to win a prize dedicated to them.
A meal will close this crazy sporting evening from 8:30 p.m.
