Last Saturday at 11am at 3700 meters altitude during the descent of the Aiguille d'Argentiere, a climbing team's rope came untied.
The pair, a man and French woman, rolled down the slope of the Glacier du Milieu for 200 metres.
The 52 year old man died. The woman escaped with a head injury and a broken leg.
