Reopening Ice Cave and gondola from Montenvers to the the Ice Cave.
According to a press release issued by the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc, the Montenvers gondola and the Ice Cave will open Thursday 25 May 2017.
Also, we remind you that: the Glaciorium, the Gallery of Crystals and the Temple of Nature are open to public.
So, from tomorrow 25 May, it is possible to take the gondola from Montenvers station to reach the glacier and visit the Ice Cave.
The Ice Cave is accessible either by walk on a footpath, around 20 minutes, either by gondola, around 430 steps, from the arrival of the gondola lift to the entrance of the Cave.
Timetable for TC MER DE GLACE: every day, from 10am to 3pm.
Also, as part of the renovation of the Montenvers site, there is some additional information:
Wednesday 24th May: Reopening of the central station building;
Thursday 25th May: Opening of the new “Mer de Glace Boutique” in the northern wing of the station;
Monday 19th June: Opening of the restaurant “Refuge Terminal Neige du Montenvers” (previously called “Grand Hôtel”);
Saturday 1st July : Opening of the southern wing of the station, “Bar des Glaciers” and new hotel “Refuge Terminal Neige du Montenvers”.
Refuge du Montenvers: opening of the entire hotel complex with its restaurant & bedrooms.
