Wednesday, 08 Oct 2014, Inauguration of Les Houches Multi-Sport Field, in the presence of Chamonix Valley's officials.
The grand opening of the sport field, brought together elected officials of Les Houches, Chamonix and of nearby regions, representatives of associations, as well as the future users of this place: children and their parents. The traditional ribbon cutting was preceded by a mini football and basketball tournament rewarded with prizes.
The program was funded by the CCC (Communauté de Communes de la vallée de Chamonix-Mont-Blanc). This field offers the opportunity to safely practice a multitude of sports such as football, basketball, handball, soccer. The existing sport fields from Chamonix and Vallorcine, may have proven to be quite far for les Houches kids. It is precisely why this field was created: to guarantee closer and better sport structures to the children of the valley.
Access guaranteed from 8am to 10pm to above 8 year old children. For the children under 8, access is permitted only under parental supervision.
The multi-sport field is part of a bigger project that also comprises Les Houches outdoor ice rink. The total cost of this project is of 177 K€, taxes included.
With a dimension of 30mx60m, the outdoor patinoire of Les Houches will be built near the multi-sport field.
