The flame of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games stops in Chamonix this Sunday June 23. But to have a chance of seeing it, it is better to leave your car and follow our advice.

The entertainment program
From 2 to 6 p.m. on the Chamonix speed ring/sports arena
Come and compete against the champions with fun and sporting activities: the Parcours des flammés awaits you! Bobsleigh pushing, sound rifle shooting, rowers, martial arts... Different worlds to discover. The Sports Club, the Sports Center and the High Mountain Military School welcome you to the speed ring.
From 3:30 p.m. on the celebration site at Place du Mont-Blanc
Place du Mont-Blanc has been designated to host the bulk of the celebration. Entertainment is planned from 3:30 p.m., before the arrival of the flame and the lighting of the cauldron at 7:20 p.m. Different stands from the relay partners will take place there. At 6:40 p.m., the flame and its procession will set off from Montenvers station, before taking avenue Michel-Croz, rue de la Tour, rue du Lyret, avenue de l'Aiguille du Midi , rue du Dr Paccard, rue Joseph-Vallot, Avenue du Mont-Blanc, Promenade du Fori, Avenue de la Plage to the speed ring, before returning to Avenue de la Plage and Route du Bouchet to reach Place du Mont-Blanc , where she will be welcomed by a guard of honor.
At 8:30 p.m., concert at Couttet Park
Because "The show must go on", a concert in tribute to the group Queen is organized at 8:30 p.m. at Couttet Park. This one is already full.

However, if you were to come to Chamonix by car, you should keep in mind that many parking spaces will be inaccessible and that a large part of the parking lots will be emptied and closed two days before. Those of Grépon, Outa, Saint-Michel and the tennis courts will remain open, but will probably be full very quickly. It is also possible to park further from the center and use the valley buses or trains. The routes of bus lines 1, 2, 3, 10, V1 and V2 are however modified, and the Le Mulet line will not be in service (for more information, consult the site www.chamonix-mobilite.com).
Additional trains will also run between Vallorcine and Saint-Gervais-Le Fayet.
Depending on your starting point, here are some practical tips for accessing Chamonix.
From the top of the valley and Switzerland
Park in the Tour, Grands-Montets (Les Chosalets stops), or Flégère car parks, then take the bus: lines 2 and V2 pass every 30 minutes towards the Bossons glacier and Place du Mont- White, get off at the Mummery stop. Or take the train from Vallorcine: Vallorcine Gare SNCF or Le Buet Gare SNCF, and get off at the Chamonix Gare SNCF stop.
From Les Houches
Use bus lines 1 and V1, direction Chamonix Sud and Les Praz Flégère every 30 minutes, get off at the Mummery or Chamonix Center stop.
From Servoz
Take the bus: line 3 every hour, and get off at the Chamonix Center stop. Or take the train from Servoz station towards Vallorcine, and get off at the Chamonix Gare SNCF stop.
From the bottom of the valley (Passy, Saint-Gervais, Sallanches)
Take the train from Fayet station towards Vallorcine, and get off at the Chamonix Gare SNCF stop. Returns from Chamonix are possible by train until 11:15 p.m. for Vallorcine, and 11:30 p.m. for Le Fayet. But also until 1:30 a.m. with the Chamo’nuit bus. Consider booking.
