Skicross: Jonas Devouassoux has decided to end his career

According to Le Dauphine, the Chamoniard Jonas Devouassoux (28) decided to end his skicross career.

  • 2016: 10th place at Innichen (ITA);
  • 2016: 2nd place at Matafon (AUS);
  • 2016: 8th place at the World Cup in Val Thorens (FRA);
  • 2016: third step of the podium at World Cup in Watles (ITA) and 4th at Val Tho;
  • 2015: 6th place at the World Championships in Kreischberg (AUT);
  • 2014: 10th place at the Sochi Olympics (RUS).

Member of the French team since 2010, he signed his first victory in 2014 in Nakiska (CAN).

"I was scared and I didn't want to ski anymore"

Close to be qualified for PyeongChang this winter, he still admits of beeing scared. In a risky sport, it's a very strong signal.

"This winter, it was very difficult to get over fear. Despite all the positive things I saw, I was scared and I didn't want to ski anymore. This is the moment, it is better to stop" said Jonas Devouassoux.
