Sunday evening, 23 Nov 2014, a light earthquake shook the Chamonix valley, leaving no known damage or accidents
The magnitude 3.7 earthquake struck about 9:50 p.m. The epicenter is thought to have been 18km north of Chamonix at a depth of 10km.
The event was followed, within the next hour, by three aftershocks. First of magnitude 1.2 at 9:57 p.m., a second one at 10:07 p.m. of magnitude 0.8 and last of 0.9 unit on the Richter scale at 10:32 p.m. announced the Switzerland Seismic Newtork
The seismic activity caused no damage.
