Tuesday, 7 October 2014, the Chamonix Chamois qualified in the knock-out stage of the Coupe de la ligue, after a home victory against the Ducs (Dukes) de Dijon, final score 2-1 (0-0, 1-1, 1-0).
In Coupe de la Ligue, the Chamois have qualified in the quarterfinals!
In the qualification process, the Chamois thrashed France U20 in both home (3-1) and away (1-6) matches, won on aggregate against Morzine-Avoriaz-Les Gets with a 7-2 victory in the home game and a 5-3 loss in the away game and scored a victory in the home match against Dijon. Therefore, Chamonix and Dijon, which will meet again on 14 Oct 2014 for the away leg, will compete for the first place of the Pool C and for the chance to play against the second team in the Pool, position currently held by the Chamois.
Even in the worst possible scenario in which the Chamois lose the away match with a difference of 2 points, Stephane Gros' men will remain in second place, just before Morzine and will be qualified in the quarterfinals.
In the Magnus League, the Chamois are on a winning roll. Nothing seem to stop them as the Chamois are ramming their competitors!
4 straight victories in 4 games: a win in the away leg against the Ducs de Dijon (2-3), a decisive home victory against the Wolf Burners (3-0), one in overtime in the away match against Brest Albatros (3-4), and a lesson of hockey in a home match against GAMYO Epinal, final score 6-2.
What a run for the Chamois!
The Chamonix Chamois' matches are a must to go, whenever in Chamonix. They are a strong French hockey team, with a great history on their backs and huge potential to win the 2014-2015 Magnus League. Bring your kids and pack the ice rink! Next home face-off, Saturday, 25 Oct 2014, against Morzine.
