First match and first victory for Chamonix! After months of waiting, we had the extraordinary privilege to see the beginning of the new hockey season. It was incredible and without a doubt the most intense 138 minutes.
Intensity, good performance and suspense, these are words that sum up the match between Chamonix Chamois and Ducs de Dijon. It was a heck of a hockey game between two very good teams. On its way to glory, the Chamonix Hockey team blown out Dijon's any hope and proved once again who's the leader in the first tough confrontation of Magnus Ligue from Saturday evening (Sept 18th). Final score 7-5.
Joris Bedin opened the scoring for Les Chamois just 4mins after the puck drop was set. Five minutes later, the French, 24-year-old Matthias Terrier scored the 2nd goal. After 9 minutes, the CHC was already leading, 4-2, thanks to other two goals scored by the Canadian Dominic Jalbert and the Finnish Ilpo Salmivirta.
Dijon's team traded chances early in the second frame. Their best opportunities came in the first 10mins into the period, when Alexandre Mulle, Yanick Riendeau and William Wallen scored 3 other goals for their team and tied the game. Score 4 - 4.
This turn of situation made Chamonix's team even more motivated and did not take too long time for Stéphane Gros's fighters to begin the great challenge.
Joris Bedin creates two goal chances that are successfully completed by Matthias Terrier ( 3:20) and Jeremy Ares ( 15:10). Soon after, same player, the 22-year-old Joris Bedin, unassisted, succeeds to score for Chamonix goal number 7. A richly victory for Chamois, who finished the game with 2 goal advantage.
The Chamonix players are celebrating the well deserved victory and also are carefully training for the upcoming match.
