On Thursday, the 18th of July 2019, a new edition of the already traditional night cross took place in Chamonix.
All the necessary ingredients for a successful sports events were present: the excellent weather, the cheerful runners, the challenging paths and the friendly atmosphere.
According to Le Dauphine, the new edition of the traditional cross night which took place on the 18th of July was a success.
The race was started by the young runners on the Triangle de l’amitié. Depending on the category, the young participants ran three to five 250-meter loops.
The young people's race was won by Hugo Buat and Thomas Saulnier (age group 8-11), ahead of Emma Gachet and Pauline Esteves Guer, and Paul Beaufils and Raphael Saulnier.
From the age group 12-15, the winners are Matthieu Cornu and Lionel Jouannaud, ahead of Paul Gryska and Nathan Paquereau, and Aimeric Vandebrouck and Stanislas Babin.
The adults followed, with six loops of 750 m and the race was won by the duo Pierre Chauvet and Jean-Marc Armingol. The runners-up were Ben Ridell and Sarah Tuntstall, and the podium was completed by the duo Romain Champenois and Adrien Colleui.
Isabelle Viaud and Corinne Roy are the best women, Ben Ridell and Sarah Tunstall are the best mixed-team.
