Seeking climber (s) viscerally in love with the French team to take up the torch! ??
After 18 international seasons, 130 world cups and countless aches, it's time for me to put away my competition shoes. A quarter of a century to climb, train, repeat, over and over, work tirelessly hard ... JJG sang "there are only roads that are beautiful".
How good it was !!!
And the adventure is far from over 💪!"
Romain Desgranges took this decision after a past season that did not rise up to expectations and after failing to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics.
"I am 37 years old, the world numbers 1 are 17-18 years old", declared Romain Desgranges in November 2019.
An excellent athlete that brought joy and pride to all French and that will surely be missed by the whole climbing community. "You are a rock-climbing legend forever", said Fanny Gibert, third overall in the world at the moment.
