Initially scheduled on 11-13 July 2020, the Climbing World Cup in Chamonix was later postponed in August, because of the coronavirus COVID-19 restrictions.
However, the Club des Sports de Chamonix has announced on 16 June 2020 that the 2020 edition of the Climbing World Cup in Chamonix is cancelled.
"A postponement had been studied for the beginning of August but the health and organizational constraints imposed do not allow us to ensure the holding of this event in healthy and viable conditions, despite its already strongly established at an international level interest and reputation", declared the Chamonix Club des Sports.
In collaboration with the city of Chamonix, the Club des Sports de Chamonix has been organizing successful climbing competitions for over 18 years.
Residents and tourists alike are welcomed to admire an amazing show and cheer for their champion, free of charge. The climbing wall is placed outside, at the foot of the Mont-Blanc massif, offering breathtaking views.
The Club des Sports de Chamonix invites everyone to the next edition of the Chamonix Climbing World Cup, from 11 to 13 July 2021. Dates to be confirmed.
