The International Freesports Film Festival IF3 offers a very feminine first edition in Chamonix which is to take place from Thursday 14 to Saturday 16 October 2021.
IF3 Festival was founded in 2007 in Canada to recognize and celebrate the excellence in freesports. It is the biggest festival tour of its kind, travelling the globe to present the best Ski, Snowboard & Mtn Biking movies of the year!
A Canadian event that by the initiative of the French Camille Martin, the director of IF3, crosses the Atlantic and France this year to offer a French and Chamoniarde version of this festival that wants to bring together the mountain community around films focused on skiing, snowboarding and mountain biking.
According to the Dauphine, IF3 Chamonix wants to keep the warm and festive spirit of its counterpart, but above all it wants to take advantage of the autumn calm and offer to festival-goers a taste of winter.

Festival schedule
From Thursday 14 to Saturday 16 October 2021, festival-goers will be able to watch many short films and feature films, at the Cinéma Vox in Chamonix for the opening night, and the following two nights at Hydromel Bar. A total of about 25 films will be screened during one of the three evenings.

The program highlights several local figures:

- the photographer and high mountain guide Mathis Dumas
Exhibitions, concerts and high altitude outings
The photographer Anthony Castelle and Chamonix's photography club designer Julia Roger-Veyer will be exhibiting some of their finest shots at the Hydromel Bar.
Two concerts will follow the cinematic festivities on Friday and Saturday night.
The event offers a few mountain activities for festival-goers, from the ice waterfall to the trail to climbing.
A very feminine IF3 edition
This first edition promises to highlight the many female practitioners of these disciplines who remain in the very masculine collective imagination.
The director said “Above all, I want to show that alongside their male counterparts, all women, exceptional climbers, legendary snowboarders but also mountain enthusiasts, have their place on the mountain playground and can take the lead in the corded, ”says one who believes that female people do not need to follow in the footsteps of men to exist.
